Project P.I.T.T. Controls & Keybinds
The default keybinds, as published by developer Froke in the official Steam Next Fest FAQ, plus what changed in update 1.0.5.
Default keybinds
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD |
| Look | Mouse |
| Jump | Space |
| Crouch | C |
| Sprint | Shift |
| Interact (press, terminal, fuses, machines) | F |
| Pick up / drop object | Left Mouse Button |
| Throw object | Right Mouse Button (unlocks with the throw upgrade) |
| Free rotate held object | Middle Mouse Button — mouse up/down rotates on X/Z, left/right on Y |
| Snap mode | R |
| Reset rotation | G — double-tap quickly to lay the object flat (added in 1.0.5) |
| Hold distance | Scroll wheel |
| Equip | E |
| Toggle torch / UV lamp | T (once collected) |
Physical buttons in the world respond to Interact (F), Equip (E) and grab/drop (LMB) — that was unified in update 1.0.5.
Rebinding
Since update 1.0.5 every action is rebindable, including scroll up and scroll down as separate binds. The same patch fixed an invisible entry in the rebind menu that used to block some keys from being reassigned. If rebinding failed for you at launch, it works now.
Controller support
The game has full controller support on Steam, including DualShock 4 and DualSense. There is no official per-button controller map in the FAQ — the bindings mirror the keyboard actions above. It is also Steam Deck Verified.
Movement tricks the game expects you to use
- Object flight: hold any object and jump — you fly. Originally a bug, kept as a feature by the developer. This is the intended way to reach catwalks, the fuse box and the scale.
- Unstuck: the pause menu has an Unstuck button that respawns you safely. Use it instead of restarting when physics eats you.
- Scale menu: if the UI is enormous, the visuals menu has a scale slider (added back in demo 1.0.1).
Movement feel was retuned in demo update 1.0.1 (“less floaty”), so old demo footage moves slightly differently from the release build.
