Project P.I.T.T. Automation Builds That Work
The point of Project P.I.T.T. is taming chaos with contraptions — as the top community automation guide puts it, your solution will look different from anyone else’s, and that’s the game working as intended. These are the proven shapes to start from, not the only answers.
The three standard builds
1. The Lane (default workhorse)
Automater → stuck-panel chute → fans in a row → The Maw.
- Anchor the chute with sticky tools; cushion panels where product lands, slick where it slides.
- Add pistons where product piles up instead of moving.
- Stand outside the shaft — your body is the number one clog.
- Broom only for spills.
This build, upgraded, is what completes FAST! (400/min) and STUFFED! (15,000 fed) — see achievements.
2. The Magnet Dump (combo machine)
Let a mountain spawn, grab it with stacked magnets, carry, release over the pit. One clean drop of a huge pile is how you hit combo x200 and x300 — the combo bar dies if the dump stutters, so clear clogs first and dump in batches your frame rate can survive.
3. The Cannon Loop (late game)
Cannons auto-load nearby products and fire them at a target — aim one at The Maw and feed its pickup zone. Link cannons to the Shift Scheduler to control rates, and put a Level 2 magnet with a shifter where streams cross to bend trajectories apart — the community Phase 4 build uses exactly that to stop auto-crafter output from clogging.
The control layer
- Shift Scheduler — changes production rates; the timing brain of any multi-machine build.
- Remote + Signal License — toggles linked tools on/off; license levels raise the link count. At ~1 kg the remote is also pocketable for mid-air factory service.
- Proxy Intern — holds buttons on manual machines, freeing you from one station.
- Vacuum / Tractor Beam — repositioning tools for products that escape the lane.
- Productivity Display — place one; it tracks your production rate, which is the stat FAST! actually reads (peak production, not deposit, rate).

Hitting 400 products / minute
The verified method from the FAST! guide: run all three auto-machines at max speed, work a max-speed manual duck machine yourself on top, with the x2 crafting speed buff active. You need to produce 400/min — depositing them only helps your frame rate. Track it on a Productivity Display.
Automation rules of thumb
- One dump target. Two half-lanes leak more than they print.
- Swap lane input every phase — ducks → registers → piñata candy → anomalies (progression).
- Phase transitions drop rubble on old builds. Budget a rebuild; the later fan tiers push debris into the pit.
- Don’t AFK a clog. Products pile, FPS dies, combo dies — the Clear Items button exists for emergencies but refunds nothing.
Good news for factory builders: the scripted Phase 3 event that used to wreck automation setups was removed by the developer on August 20 after feedback — “your factory should no longer be punished for being a factory.”
Thanks for the feedback!
